Every time I have eaten here I have been beyond impressed with the food. Chicken is always amazing, burrito is very filling, and the plantains are my favorite side dish! Always friendly, helpful service.

What is this hidden gem???
So I stumbled across here after going engagement ring shopping with a friend at Towson Town Center.
At first, I was a little bit worried because it looked sketchy from the outside but I told myself "best food is served at hole-in-the-wall places" and I went in. I am glad that I did.
I got Lomo Saltado ($12.95) which was basically steak sauteed in olive oil, onions, tomatoes and herbs served with rice. I cannot comment on if it's authentic Peruvian food since my only experience with Peruvian food is at Chicken Rico. I will say that Pollo Amigo was delicious. They were not stingy about their portion of meat, meat was not chewy, well cooked, and seasoned perfectly. I am a meat + rice kinda girl so this hit the spot. They gave me this green sauce that was super spicy. It reminded me of the green sauce that I get at Chicken Rico.
What made it even better was the service. This gentleman (I am guessing is the owner) kept stopping by to ask if we were doing good and gave us so much fries and grilled plantains.
Overall, I liked this place much more than Chicken Rico. Better food, better service and cheaper food. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because I noticed that cooking is not consistent; sometimes food is amazing and sometimes it's good but not great. -

I went to Pollo Amigo for the first time with a colleague over lunch. I got the chicken burrito. Quality authentic food at an unbeatable price point.
I ordered a burrito, my colleague got the fajitas. He loved his and I loved mine. The pico was spicy, the sour cream was hearty, the guacamole, wholesome, and the burrito balanced. It was served with rice and beans. So fresh, so clean.
It was so good, I went back the next day (today) to get the same thing. Their main attraction is their Peruvian style quarter, half, or whole chickens. I know what I'm ordering next time I'm in. Reminds me a lot of place I went to with my mom growing up. It's nice to see mom and pop businesses still thriving, and reminding me of home. The owners are good people. I forgot my wallet, so I ran home to get it. When I got back, they met me with a smile and a "You didn't have to" look. What they don't know is that I'd pay double for a burrito that good!
Pollo Amigo is a most try for people in Towson and Baltimore. -

My friends and I came to this place before going to the movies, and I'm so glad we found it. I got the chicken chimichanga, which is basically a deep fried burrito. Inside the crispy tortilla was rice and chicken, and it came with guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, beans, and even more rice on the side. Although it was yummy, I think it was a bit dry and the portions were kind of small.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating of my group of 6, and they helped us move around tables so that we could all sit together. The actual restaurant is a bit small, so if you have a large group and plan to dine in, be prepared to move around the tables.
Overall, I would probably come back and try the yuca and pollo saltado, a chicken platter with rice and veggies. -

Ordered tacos de carnitas. A somewhat bland, boring meal with an unusual taste....that sent me to the ER with food poisoning.
Bad tacos and plate full black beans and rice that have no flavor, nothing distinctive...other than FOOD POISONING
